    Though expensive, these little eggs are adorable. What a smart idea!!! And they can be used for treasure hunts even after Easter. My kids LOVE these eggs!

    The eggs are cute! They were purchased for a blind child to be able to take part in an Easter Egg hunt. They worked well for that purpose. The price makes them much like most durable medical equipment, however. Maybe when they are more massed produced and show up in stores (I had to order online because only one store listed had them and had “run out”) the price will come down. It is only a question of quality for the cost that is the issue.

    These eggs were a lot of fun for our four and six year olds at Easter. They have also played with them since then, inside and out, hiding them for each other. You can purchase them from Target for about $15.

    FUN: We received this as a gift and didn’t wait until Easter – we let our 3 1/2 play with it early. They are so much fun! You push the button, hide the egg and it begins talking or making noises for your child to find. The voice/noises are not to loud or annoying, and there is appox a 20-30 second delay btwn each sound while the child searches. Once your child finds the egg and opens it – the egg has a pressure switch between the two halves and when the connection is broken – the voice says “You found me!” Older children have just as much fun hiding these for their younger siblings as the younger one enjoy finding them.

    PROBLEM SOLVING: I found out that my neice’s (who is 20 months old and has Down Syndrome)classroom uses this toy to teach them problem solving.

    DURABLE: My son has dropped his a few times on the wooden floors in our house and they just keep working, so far they are pretty durable.

    The only problem I found with this toy is our red one (out of the box of 4) does not close tightly enough – this was an issue from the moment we took it out of the package and turned it on. Instead of returning it – we just hide it in a place where there is equal pressure on both sides of the egg to keep it from saying “You found me!” too early – like between the cushions on the couch.

    OVERALL RECOMENDATION: I would recommend this not only as an Easter gift, but as a gift for Birthdays or just for fun.
