I bought this book for my daughter who had only been playing the piano for about four months. The pieces are a little too hard for her, but by next year she will be able to play at least a couple of songs. Most songs have one flat or sharp, although there are at least two songs with no flats or sharps. About half of the songs (5) are written so only one had is playing at a time. The last four songs are a little harder. Most songs are played with both hands on middle C. The last four songs are played with the right hand, first finger on D so that A can be played by the fifth finger. If you are looking for a book for a very beginner piano player, this is not the book for you. However, if your child has been playing for a year or two this book would be perfect.

I wish I had paid more attention to the songs included in this book. These songs are more popular favorites from the 50s or 60s, than classic Christmas carols which is definitely what I was hoping for. My 7 year old does not know Blue Christmas and I’ll Be Home for Christmas. I was hoping more for Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls. I’m returning this book and searching for an alternative.

Looks alot like entry level reading books for little kids so it goes over well. Teaching little kids piano isnt always easy. This helps to make it so. Would buy again, would recommend.
